Chocolate Sweet Like Me Do Ye Drink

print(“Hello, world!“)

YOU GUYS. I can't even remember how to print strings in Python 2.7 now, only Python 3?? My brain has THROWN all non-essential mumbo jumbo out the window just like everything else we feed to the birds (except for like 60 of the scientific plant names that refuse to leave? Not even useful because they're mostly desert plants and everytime I go outside I'm hit with a fat blast of #00FF00??)

Anywho, this week has had its ups and downs (I prefer it that way though...helps you build momentum, no one likes the going up parts of roller coasters anyways, we ride em for the downs! Just like REAL LIFE WOW!)

Anywho AGAIN (Its 7:05 in the morning and I already can't focus on the task at hand, that's a great sign) I just have to tell you about the SWEETEST lesson we had with our friend Annika a couple days ago!

I 'randomly' friended her on Facebook a couple weeks ago (you must know already though, that nothing in missionary work is truly random) and we'd been messaging for a while about her cats and dogs, the photos from her walks she was posting, why I was in Ireland etc, then I bit the bullet and asked her if she'd like to video call and learn more about my faith and she said YES! We shared a couple scriptures with her (I'll include them down below) and spoke more about the spiritual experiences in the past couple years that have built up her faith. She testified to us of the reality of the spirit world, the time after this life we'll have to learn of Christ, and of God's perfect plan. We're going to be calling her weekly until lockdown ends! Good craic.

A CRAZY MIRACLE this week! I 'randomly' added a guy named Jason, and not 15 minutes after he accepted my friend request he posted a long paragraph about how he's looking for God but can't find him in any of the religions he's explored and how he's been praying so hard but isn't sure if God is hearing His prayers.

*queue missionaries*

We messaged him right before bedtime (I had seen his post while already on my knees to pray when I'm pretty sure I accidentally unlocked my phone with my face while checking the time) and set up an appointment and prayed for him and he was so grateful and relieved that we had reached out.

BUT THEN he cancelled our appointment because he was afraid it wasn't a good idea

BUT THEN I sent him some scriptures and kept praying for him and Sunday morning invited us to watch Sunday Sunshine Hour

BUT THEN he actually watched it!

BUT THEN I told him thank you for watching it and he said, "No thank you. I am happy and full of cheer Heavenly father must of been so happy i attended your service that he has made my soul feel great”

AND THEN he said we can talk this week so YAY! Please pray for Jason!

(Not to be confused with Javascript Object Notation)

Hmm other highlights...well this one might be considered a downlight if that's a thing but one of our friends cancelled their teaching appointment because they were drunk from their birthday so we decided to watch 17 Miracles instead to cheer ourselves up (which makes no sense because it's a sad movie) and he was drunk texting us the whole time! That's where the title of my weekly came from haha I couldn't help myself. We were dying. Wow that's really bad word choice I'm so sorry.

Happy Mothers Day + 1 to you all! Yesterday was Sister Boss's 13 month mark so we brought her breakfast in bed, so don't worry I'm still in the habit of doing it on Mother's day for when I get home!

Something I shared in our zone FHE yesterday: “Life is to be enjoyed, not just endured. Patience is a key difference between the two.” The attribute our mission is focusing on this month is patience! If you have any talks or experiences that have really helped you, I'd love to hear them!

Whelp, the 2 scriptures we shared with Annika were,

John 14:26-27

“26 But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you. 27 Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.” and  Helaman 16:2

"2 But as many as there were who did not believe in the words of Samuel were angry with him; and they cast stones at him upon the wall, and also many shot arrows at him as he stood upon the wall; but the Spirit of the Lord was with him, insomuch that they could not hit him with their stones neither with their arrow.

Corona feels as much like getting stones and arrows thrown at me as I've ever experienced. But for reals, if we have the spirit with us, IT WILL NOT HIT US! We can rise above our challenges! Sure, we might even actually get the corona virus, but there is peace to be found in any trial when we look to the right sources.

A joke my Dad told me yesterday: “Chuck Norris came in contact with COVID-19. COVID-19 had to be quarantined for 2 weeks because of it."

AYE SO IT GOES WHEN WE FACE OUR TRIALS IN THE STRENGTH OF THE LORD! Let's show Satan who's the boss this week, ok? And maybe post some scriptures and give some service to our friends in the name of Christ. I know a lot of your personal feeds might already be full of spiritual things, but do it for friends who's feeds aren't. You could be a game changer for them.

Who am I kidding you already are.

Halfway there and defintely still living on a prayer,
